Pear Waldorf Salad

  • 2 cups chopped ( not peeled) ripe pears

  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 6 ounces mayonnaise or low fat plain yogurt

  • 1 cup finely minced celery

  • ½ cup finely chopped walnuts ( optional)

Toss all ingredients together and mix until well coated. Allow to chill for at least 30 minutes before serving. Serve on a bed of shredded lettuce and garnish with raisins or chopped dates.
