You have heard of hot oil treatments for the hair (or at least us ladies
have!) so why not an olive oil treatment for your apartment? Olive oil
is one of the healthier of all of the oils and it is low in fat and
works well in a variety of recipes. Are you aware that olive oil can be
of use around your apartment as well? It can. Let’s take a look.
In the kitchen
In the kitchen olive oil can be used to season cutting boards that are
wooden as well as wooden bowls and cast iron frying pans. Dab a tiny
smidgen of olive oil on a piece of paper towel and clean your kitchen
counter tops as well as the surface of your stove. Do not use too much
however or you will leave the surfaces oily and slippery to the hands.
You don’t want a slippery situation to develop! (Smiles)
Shine up plant leaves
Some plants have plenty of green leaves and who doesn’t enjoy the
appearance of shiny green leaves? Shine up your plant leaves with a dab
of olive oil on a sponge or paper towel and rub it gently onto the plant
leaves. Voila! Shiny plant leaves here you come! Olive oil can also be
used to shine up artificial plant leaves as well.
Give dents the brush-off
Do you have wood furniture that is pitted or dented and the appearance
of it bothers you terribly? Don’t despair- olive oil can come to the
rescue! Grab the bottle of trusty olive oil and put a small portion on a
sponge and then rub it over the table or chair legs or whatever piece of
furniture it is and watch the dents do a disappearing act! It works just
as well if not better than a magician’s wand! Don’t believe me? Oh you
of little faith! Well then what are you waiting for? Try it for yourself
and see.
