A Welcome from Elece
Welcome to my backyard. I hope to share with you informative articles
and inspirational essays about the art and science of birdwatching. Let
me introduce you to the birds I love to feed and watch. I will give you
answers to some of your bird questions and also include quotations and
tidbits of bird lore that I have gathered over my years of bird
watching.
I have lived in six states in the USA—Washington, Texas, Louisiana,
Nebraska, Michigan and Oklahoma. I became fascinated with birds when as
a child I was taken by my grandmother, Cleo Brink, to her office at the
Audubon Society. Grandmother showed me stacks of pages which were being
assembled into a bird book. Later, we visited a park where she showed me
large pearly white goose eggs. I was hooked! I have watched and studied
birds ever since!
Again, welcome to my place,
