Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe – Free Worksheet

Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe is a well known children’s classic based on the adventures of an Alexander Selkirk. On February 1 Alexander was rescued from a desert island and thus began the basis for the famous tale.

This book has been a timeless classics with movies being made from the story. Movies such as Robinson Crusoe on Mars was a big hit - although a bit of a stretch from the original!

Suggested Activities:

  1. Read the book Robinson Crusoe. Write a book report.
     
  2. Make a poster on the adventures of Robinson Crusoe.
     
  3. Add Alexander Selkirk to your timeline.
     
  4. Research basic survivor skills. Learn how to make a fire or read a compass. Can’t send your reader to a commercial site. We allow these links when the advertiser has paid for it on a monthly basis.
     
  5. Make a model of a desert island.
     
  6. While reading the book make a list of all the animals you come across. Do an Animal Detective sheet for each animal.
     
  7. Cook a meal using only the food available to Crusoe on the island.


  8. Find and watch a copy of Robinson Crusoe on Mars.
