Here is a coloring page and a research worksheet on the moose. Use these as part of your Animal Notebook study, a unit study on moose, mammals or forest and woodland animals.

The moose is the state mammal for Alaska and Maine.

Place your moose (Species: Alces Americanus) in your animal notebook in the following order:

• Kingdom: Animalia
  Phylum: Chordata
• Subphylum: Vertebrata
• Class: Mammalia
• Order: Artiodactyla
• Family: Cervidae
• Subfamily: Capreolinae
• Genus: Alces

If your doing a simple notebook for younger kids simply use these dividers:

• Vertebrates
• Mammals
• Deer
