Philodendron – Perfect Houseplants

One of the most common houseplants in America and one of the most abused is the Philodendron. Found in homes and offices across the country, it is often seen as a straggly 15 foot vine with a few pale, heart shaped leaves near the end. But a properly grown and trained Heart Leaved Philodendron is very attractive and it takes just a little care to make it look nice.

With a host of common names from Mother in Law’s Tongue, Snake plant, Good Luck plant and Birds Nest, the Sansevieria suffers cheerfully through neglect and mistreatment. Manzanita-Little Apples

Manzanita is a Spanish name which roughly translated means little apples.

One of the plants long associated with winter holidays is Holly. Whether in it’s evergreen forms with thick, glossy green leaves or in it’s deciduous form with branches outlined in glowing red berries, hollies are wonderful winter accent plants. No matter where you live you can probably grow some form of holly.


Spider Plants - Super Easy Space Traveler

One of the easiest houseplants ever known, the Spider Plant or Chlorophytum comosum has even been grown in space. The Spider Plant has long been a plant shared among friends because even the brownest thumb will find it hard to kill. Not only do Spider plants make good houseplants but they look good in the garden too.
