Hi, my name is Kim Willis, sometimes known as the "Green Granny" . I want to welcome you to Garden and Hearth's Plant Guides, a place where you can get reliable, factual information about any kind of garden plant. These short, concise guides will give you basic information about the plant and how to grow it. I will be adding new topics all the time, so if you don't see your plant listed this time, keep checking, and I'm sure you'll see it soon.

Kim's Bio

Kim Willis lives with her husband Stephen on a small farm in Michigan's thumb area. She has gardened all her life. She is an Advanced Master Gardener and works as a horticulture aide for Lapeer County MSU Extension answering homeowner questions about gardening. She also teaches gardening classes on a wide range of subjects from vegetables to plant diagnostics. Kim also writes about gardening, and has published a number of garden articles. She worked in the retail garden industry for over 25 years and currently manages many garden projects in the Michigan Master Gardener Volunteer Program.

Besides gardening and writing, Kim's hobbies include cooking, raising dogs and Painted Desert sheep. She has three children, seven grandchildren, and too many pets to count.
