If Teacups Could Talk is one of Emilie Barnes’ many books on having
teas. Barnes has made hosting teas an easy and pleasant experience for
those who are new, and seasoned, to the art of tea.
This book is filled with great tips, recipes, and ideas for having tea
parties. This is a great first book for those who are just starting (or
thinking about starting) to have teas. With the beautiful art/paintings
by Sandy Lynam Clough, and the wonderful stories Barnes shares, this
book is a perfect gift.
Recipes are easy to make, though some I suggest trying before you host a
tea party. I think this book, thus far, is the best out of the others
Barnes has written on teas. She has systematic instructions on how to
plan and execute a tea party. You will never run out of ideas and themes
for many teas to come.
The best part of reading this book is that you see a total different
side of the tea party tradition. Emilie Barnes brings out the spiritual
side of having teas. She shares that there is more than just having a
teapot and a cup of tea with goodies. It is a time for outreach to
whomever is part of the tea and to open your hearts to those who need
you. You will see Barnes’ love for her God and her passion to spread
that love.
I give this book 4 tea bags. I recommend this book to anyone who is
interested in teas in any capacity.
