Tea Gift Basket – The Perfect Mother’s Day Gift

Tea Gift Basket IdeasI know that sometimes it is hard to find that special gift for the woman who is so near and dear to your heart. After all, she is the one who changed your diaper, fed you, kissed your boo-boos, did your hair and stayed up late waiting for you to come home from a date. Most importantly, those times together having the talks about your hopes and dreams, letting you share all your fears and concerns, giving you advice, or just being a listening ear and a shoulder to cry on. With this tea gift basket, you will be sure to show her just how much you appreciate her and she will remember why.

There are many ways to make a tea gift basket, which can be in various price ranges. Each basket below will go from smaller price to bigger price.

Remembering You Gift Basket

  • A teacup and saucer – find a pretty, delicate teacup and saucer that reminds you of a special time together.

  • A box of specialized tea – I say ‘specialized’ because you don’t want to put just the normal store brands in your basket. You want to get a tea like Green Tea or a flavored tea like strawberry tea, or maybe your mother has a favorite already.

  • A mason jar – Decorate the lid of the jar. Put a piece of fabric that matches the colors in your basket. Cut the fabric in a square with pinking sheers and put on lid with ribbon or raffia tied around it. You can also put some cotton balls or a piece of batting under the fabric on top of the lid.

  • Take some colored cardstock (also matching with colors in basket), and cut into strips. Write different memories on the strips that you have between you and your mother. Fold the strips in half and put them in the jar. Close the jar with the decorated lid. You can also attach a tag with the raffia saying, “Memories dear to my heart,” or just “Memory Jar.”

  • A card – Put in a card telling her to relax and have a cup of tea and reminisce. Make it personal and write what’s on your heart. If you are crafty, make a homemade card.

Put these things in a small handless basket with coordinating colored tissue or shredded paper in the bottom. This will not only protect the items, but make it pretty.

Tea Time Gift Basket

Items listed above plus:

  • A decorative spoon rest
  • A collective spoon
  • An embroidered linen napkin

Mother’s Love Letters Gift Basket

  • Teacup and Saucer
  • A few tea bags – place in the teacup
  • The Memory Jar
  • Beautiful Stationary – try to match with items in basket.
  • A nice pen

You can change up the insert of your card, maybe tell her to sit, relax and enjoy writing others that mean so much to her. Again, use the words in your heart. You can even put a book of stamps in there.

The Basket of All Mother’s Day Baskets

You will need a big basket with handles.

You can find most of these items in this article in an antique shop, which makes it even more special. Not everything has to match, but it is good to have at least some of the same colors to bring everything together.

  • A beautiful teapot
  • A teacup and saucer
  • Decorative spoon and tea bag rest
  • Loose tea – this time you want to get the good stuff. Any specialty tea that you think your mother would love.
  • A tea ball – these are used for loose tea.
  • A collective teaspoon
  • A journal – for her to record her memories for you and/or your children
  • A decorative pen
  • The Memory Jar
  • Your personalized card

Tie cellophane up around the basket and tie with a big bow. You can either tie your card to the big bow or you can just make a small tag saying, “Happy Mother’s Day from:”

Please let me know how you did with your Mother’s Day Basket. Share how you put your personal touches to the tea gift basket. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.

Happy Mother’s Day!
